The Chamber Works: Member Testimonials

Linda Schiebel, Administrative Assistant, Foresthill Highlands Senior Apartments

I would like to share my comments on the Chamber. I find being a member of the Chamber to be very interesting and rewarding. I have done business with several Chamber members and found them to be very easy to work with, cost effective and accommodating.  Some of the contacts I have made are: Dave Menzel, MinuteMan Press; Kathy Schnagel, Prescott Miller Jewelers; Rebecca Pergande, Meadowmere Assisted Living; and Chris Hewitt, Aldi’s Inc.  Chamber Staff are wonderful to work with and were such a help during our Ground Breaking Ceremony. The Chamber helped to get the word out and the Staff attended our event! My enjoyment and the networking contacts have made my membership very worthwhile!

Mark Hansen, Staybridge Suites Milwaukee Airport South

As Director of Sales and Marketing for the Staybridge Suites Milwaukee Airport South in Franklin, Wisconsin, I have the greatest privilege of meeting and networking with many businesses in the community. There is one business and its owner which I am compelled to extend my professional thanks and acknowledgement to and that business is Toppers pizza and its owner Dave Gilewski.

From the first day I met Dave at a chamber breakfast, he was willing to explore any and all avenues of marketing and building a relationship. Together we have made Toppers pizza the exclusive pizza delivery service of the hotel, he has generously covered the cost of our key cards printed with his company’s information and logo on them, offered catering services to our functions, provided complimentary pizzas to our guests for our “Monday Mixers”, and has been open to many new ideas as we move forward.

I am sure I will meet and work with many other member businesses now that I have seen how important the breakfasts, networking events and chamber meetings really are and how they have helped me promote my company and sharpened my networking skills.

I am a very happy member.

Platinum Design & Development

I have been attending the Chamber Breakfasts and ABLE luncheons. I feel it is a good way of getting acquainted with fellow chamber members. The more familiar I become with each member helps to keep them in the forefront of my mind for referrals. In the short time being associated with the Chamber I feel I have made some great relationships.

I have been in touch with ReAnn Holmes, Edward Jones; John Wright, Oak Creek Plumbing (Set up a meeting to go over Web site or Brand Identity); Rick Acevedo, Acevedo PC Services (set up a strategic partnership for future projects); Kathy Schnagl, Prescott Jewelers (I bought a Pandora Bracelet at their trunk sale, Made an appointment to see about a web site); Patti Blaschka, Veitenhaus Insurance Services (gave me tips on sales and networking); Tina Ramos, National City Bank (gave me tips on marketing and networking); Mark Boever, MAB Mortgage (gave me info on networking); Jessica Gumieny, Phones Plus (attended a Ottawa University seminar with me); Sunil Sanghvi, Edward Jones (has become my financial advisor).

Carlos G. Amador, Resource Manager, Junior Achievement of Wisconsin, Inc.

I attended the ABLE luncheon at Knights of Columbus and have met a number of wonderful people who have helped make Junior Achievement of Wisconsin, Inc. possible around the south sector. I was able to connect with Candace Tischer from State Farm because she picked up one of my cards from the marketing table. I was also able to meet Heidi Griswold-Rhymer from the South Suburban Chamber of Commerce, who has been an avid supporter and true friend to JA. The second luncheon that I attended, I was able to connect with Enrique Acevedo from Acevedo PC Services and he’s bringing his entrepreneurship knowledge to a local school. I was able to connect with Jeannette Lucero from Baker’s Square; she jumped right on board and has been making Junior Achievement possible at a nearby Greendale school. The South Suburban Chamber has proven to be a great Chamber to be a part of and has opened a lot of doors for me. I enjoy attending their events and look forward to meeting the wonderful people that are a part of it. If you’re looking for a great place to network and grow your business and at the same time form great relationships, SSCC is a great place to be.

Fastsigns-Greenfield

We have been a member of the South Suburban Chamber for 7 years. During that time we have attended CIA breakfasts, ABLE lunches, and multiple events like golf outings, annual dinners, and other social events. We have met many other members throughout the years and have found this an extremely rewarding organization to be a member of.

We provide many of the promotional signs to the chamber for social events. This gives us an opportunity to show what we can do as a company and also saves the chamber money. We also donate silent auction and raffle items showcasing some of the products we provide for our other customers. The biggest contribution and the one that returns the most to us is participation on the board and committees. I personally have met more people as a result of my participation in the chamber than in any other organization I am a member of.

I have counted over 30 chamber members that have done business with our company over the years, and many of these companies are repeat customers. I cannot thank the Chamber enough for providing this valuable networking opportunity.

Larry Krawczyk, President, Lindenwood Lawn and Landscape Services, Inc.

Since Lindenwood Lawn and Landscape Services joined the chamber, we have done business with the following: Mike Endres of Edward Jones Investments, Dr. Lisa Reid of Chiropractic Care Center, Gail and Gil Loppnow of Fast Signs, Jackie Klehr of Country Inn and Suites and Marvin Paluszynski of Shorewest Realtors. All of these individuals have reflected a positive professional business attitude towards our company and we are very proud to have them place their trust in us as our valued customers.

Enrique (Rick) Acevedo, Owner, Acevedo PC Services, LLC

I would like to recommend and thank deeply Two Men and a Truck, a valued member of the South Suburban Chamber of Commerce. I had to move my office furniture to a new location, and they were able to respond within a day. Their movers took great care in moving the furniture and cabinets and NEVER dinged a single piece of furniture. They were friendly and very, very quick. They took great care to strap everything down in the truck and put pads on everything. They were flexible with my requests and serviced us perfectly. If you have an office or home move, I would highly recommend them. Plus they gave us a discount for being a Chamber member. Thank you.

Lori Baumann, Financial Advisor, Robert W. Baird

I joined the Chamber and became a Board Member in 2005 with the goal of doing business within the South Suburban communities, as a resident and a professional financial services provider.

Since 2005, I have been active on the Events Committee, Golf Committee, Finance Committee and participated in all Annual Chamber events including the Awards Dinner, Fall and Spring events, Legislative/Special Topics events and the Golf Outing. In most cases, Baird has sponsored or donated to the event. As well, I have attended Ribbon Cuttings, Open Houses and Grand Opening events. I have also attended the Chamber breakfasts and ABLE luncheons.

For me, committing to one or two Chamber functions that become a consistent part of your work/family schedule with a goal of attaining new business has resulted in a return on my investment.

I have established 4 new client relationship and an additional 13 potential relationships. I am a regular customer of the following members as a direct result of Chamber Networking: Dr. Poglitsch Dentist, Parkway Floral, Di Carlo Trattoria Restaurant, Gus’ Mexican Cantina, Muskego Lakes Country Club, and Oak Creek Plumbing.

Ewald Chrysler-Jeep-Dodge

I have found that the Chamber in Action Breakfast is a great way to network with other business professionals in the Oak Creek and Franklin area. I find that these networking opportunities also help me to learn about other businesses and gain insight on what other business owners are doing to survive in these challenging economic times.

Publicity & Evangelism Committees, Oak Creek Community United Methodist Church

We have ordered numerous banners from Fedex Office Greenfield.  They always have wonderful designs to assist us and is prompt in returning quotes to us.  Staff hand-delivered the banners to us, which is an added perk and testament to their commitment to good customer service.

Greg Holther, ECAM Coordinator, MATC – Oak Creek Campus

Milwaukee Area Technical College Oak Creek Campus, as a member of the South Suburban Chamber of Commerce, has made the community aware of its new 34,000 square foot addition known as the Energy Conservation and Advanced Manufacturing Center—ECAM Center. Numerous ABLE luncheons have been attended by ECAM staff providing us a great opportunity to network our new facility. The MATC ECAM Center has recently hosted a number of Chamber events affording attendees exposure to our multi-purpose Meeting/Seminar Room and Advanced Technology Labs available for outside use.

MATC is looking forward to future South Suburban Chamber events.

John Anderson, Bank Mutual in Oak Creek

Part of Bank Mutual's vision statement includes "To support and partner with our local communities in activities that improve the quality of life for all of their residents." My philosophy has been that "the more you put into your chamber the more you will get out."  In my time with this chamber I have made every effort to do business with chamber members and to ask them for their business.  In return I have received numerous financial requests from chamber members for savings and checking accounts, mortgage loan requests, to commercial site inspections for commercial business loans. The South Suburban Chamber of Commerce, under the leadership of Barbara Wesener, is now one of the strongest chambers in Wisconsin. I am a proud member of this chamber. Thank you.
